Participation of the UINL President in the CNUE General Assembly in Malta

The President of the International Union of Notaries (UINL), David Figueroa Márquez, was invited to address the General Assembly of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE), held in Malta on 4 June 2026. He was warmly welcomed by the Maltese President of the CNUE, Roland Wadge, and by the President of the Maltese Notariat, Graziella Agius Farrugia, who hosted the event on the island of Malta.

In his address, President Figueroa outlined the key priorities of his 2026–2028 Action Plan and the work of the European Affairs Commission (CAE), chaired by Italian notary Valentina Rubertelli. He highlighted the guiding theme of his term: “The Economic Value of the Notarial Public Instrument,” underlining the need to demonstrate, with figures and scientific evidence, that the civil law notariat is an investment — and not a cost — to society.

Emphasising the complementarity of both institutions, David Figueroa Márquez expressed his commitment to strengthening structured collaboration between the UINL and the CNUE on shared major challenges: digitalisation, artificial intelligence, anti-money laundering and the protection of vulnerable persons (…) with the ambition of speaking with one voice in international forums.
