From April 2 to 4, 2025, the meeting of the UINL American Affairs Commission was held in Montevideo, in the presence of the President of the UINL, Lionel Galliez, and its Secretary General, Thierry Vachon. These meetings usually gather Notariats from different countries in America with the aim of strengthening collaboration and the exchange of notarial best practices.
As part of this activity, an International Seminar entitled “Legal Certainty as a Pillar of the Economy” was held on March 31 and April 1, with the participation of European notaries.
During the event, the 150th anniversary of the Uruguayan Association of Notaries was commemorated. On this occasion, President Galliez congratulated the Notariat of Uruguay and highlighted its special place within the International Union of Notaries.
