Hangzhou, 3–4 September 2026
The Asian Affairs Commission (CAAs) of the International Union of Notaries held its 16th Plenary Meeting on 3 and 4 September 2026 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, at the invitation of the China Notary Association. On the occasion of this meeting, an International Notarial Profession Exchange Conference was held in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China and of the Government of Zhejiang Province.
The proceedings were opened by the President of the UINL, David Figueroa Márquez, the Vice-President of the UINL for Asia and President of the China Notary Association, Zhou Yuansheng, and by Oleg Polumordvinov, President of the Asian Affairs Commission (CAAs).
This plenary session provided an overview of the development of the notarial profession in each of the Asian Member countries, followed by three thematic sessions bringing together Chinese and international speakers:
- Thematic Session 1: Notarization and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
- Thematic Session 2: Technology-Enabled Notarization — the digital transformation of notarial practice, with experiences shared by several European and Asian Notariats.
- Thematic Session 3: Synergy between International Economic and Trade Cooperation and Legal Services — the notariat’s contribution to the security of cross-border transactions and to cooperation among legal professions.
