European Notarial Academy in Turin, Italy, on Digital Inheritance

The European Affairs Commission of the UINL met in Turin on 20 and 21 November 2025 for the 6th and final plenary session of the legislature. The meeting was preceded by the European Notarial Academy, dedicated to “Digital Inheritance in Europe – The fate of digital assets and data upon death”.

Organized with the collaboration of Notartel, the Academy brought together experts, academics, and European notaries to analyse the legal and technical challenges linked to the growing importance of digital estates.

Case Study & Conclusions

A case study illustrating issues related to crypto-assets, digital correspondence, multimedia content and social media profiles was presented by Italian notary Marco Spina.

The session concluded with the presentation of the CNN Decalogue on Digital Inheritance.

CAE Plenary Session

The plenary session on 21 November, chaired by Valentina Rubertelli, focused on institutional reports, legislative developments, and ongoing CAE studies.
