The third Dialogue between legal systems organized by the UINL in Edinburgh, Scotland, on September 5, 2025, was a great success.
During this conference entitled “The notary – a bridge between legal systems”, facilitated by the Law Society of Scotland and the Scrivener Notaries of London, notaries and lawyers from civil law (France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Quebec, Puerto Rico, etc.) and common law jurisdictions (England and Wales, Scotland, Ireland, United States, Canada, Australia, etc.) discussed about the international circulation of notarial documents, with a focus on matrimonial regimes and successions (according to the programme attached).
These Dialogues between legal systems, initiated during Lionel Galliez’s presidency, are an excellent opportunity to improve the mutual understanding between our different legal systems.
