For the first time since its creation in 2013, the World Notariat University took place in Paris, in the country of its founder, Jean-Paul Decorps, and current UINL President, Lionel Galliez.

From July 1 to 5, 2024, the French Notarial Council (Conseil Supérieur du Notariat - CSN) welcomed around a hundred young or future notaries from 40 different countries.

During the week, the participants followed courses given by emeritus professors on the theme of the 2023-2025 legislature, “Respecting public policy: an essential mission of the notariat, a constant challenge for the notary”, in three different languages (French, Spanish and English) and through the prism of 5 matters:

- Family (with Argentine Professor Cristina Armella)

- Person (with Quebec Professor Christine Morin)

- Successions (with French Professor Michel Grimaldi)

- Estate (with Belgian Professor Luc Weyts)

- Corporate law and the Anti money laundering (with Dutch Professor Birgit Snijder-Kuipers)

Alongside the courses, the participants were offered a private visit to the French National Archives and an exceptional conference at the Sorbonne. In the presence of Bernard Beignier, Chancellor of the Universities of Paris, the lectures were given by Professor Grimaldi, Jean-Paul Decorps (Former UINL President), Valentina Rubertelli (President of the UINL European Affairs Commission), Yves Charpenel (Honorary Advocate General at the Court of Cassation), and Pierre Tarrade, President of the Notarial Chamber of Paris.

Finally, Jean Tarrade, former President of the French Notariat and correspondent of the French Academy, welcomed the participants to the Institut de France for the closing ceremony.

The students will meet again next year in Berlin, for the UINL Congress.
