The General Meeting of Member Notariats of the International Union of Notaries (UINL),  held in Buenos Aires on 1 and 2 October 2018, expressed by unanimous resolution its vote in favor of the admission of the Notariat of Lebanon as member of the UINL. The Council of Notaries of Lebanon has then been recognized as the official body representing the Notariat of Lebanon.

The UINL and all its members wish the warmest welcome to its 88th member, and send on their most confraternal regards to Lebanese notaries!

In accordance with the UINL Bye-Law, the official ceremony of admission of the Notariat of Lebanon will occur at the next International Congress of notaries, joined with the next General meeting of Member Notariats, which will be held in November 2019 in Jakarta (Indonesia).

For the record, the last member to be admitted to the International Union of Notaries was the Chamber of Notaries of Serbia, in 2016.
